Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. seeks kernel/embedded software engineers to help build the EC2 Nitro dataplane. You will optimize packet processing, work on highly performant data structures, and tune software for embedded CPUs across a broad AWS footprint.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, review designs, and contribute to the evolution of SDN features for EC2 VPCs, Lambda, and other services. Strong C/C++ or Rust skills and a passion for systems software are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of design/architecture experience for large systems.
• Experience programming in at least one software language.

Responsibilities

• Be on a small team and mentor junior engineers.
• Lead architecture decisions and participate in designs, code reviews, and implementation.
• Maintain current knowledge and bring in new technologies to the team.
• Communicate requirements and features to users and senior management.
