Job summary

Amazon EC2 Instance Networking team builds and operates the software-defined networking stack at the heart of AWS, enabling VPCs, security policies, and scalable workloads across thousands of hosts.

You will write low-level systems code in C and Rust for custom hardware, design data plane protocols, and collaborate with hardware, control plane, and ML teams to deliver reliable, low-latency networking at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship software development experience.
• 2+ years in design or architecture of large systems.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related experience.
• 1+ years of multi-threaded, distributed software applications.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Engineering/Math.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement data plane networking software on custom hardware across the full software lifecycle.
• Build and improve network virtualization systems delivering VPC connectivity and policy enforcement.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues across distributed embedded systems.
• Collaborate with hardware, control plane, and ML teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
