Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer in Huntsville, AL to design, build, and operate high-performance, zero-trust networks across on-premise data centers and public clouds. You will focus on SDN, hybrid-cloud connectivity, and container-native networking within Kubernetes ecosystems, working primarily on-site at customer locations.

The role requires hands-on experience with cloud networking services, secure routing, and integration with DevSecOps teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of prior relevant experience or master’s with 3 years of prior relevant experience.
• Cloud networking: Hands on experience with cloud networking services (VPC, VNets, peering, transit gateways).
• Linux operating systems: Experience with Linux OS.
• Multicast/UDP: Practical knowledge of multicast UDP and broadcast UDP traffic handling.
• SDN / hardware defined networking: Experience with software defined and hardware defined networking.
• Kubernetes-based networking: Experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting networking within Kubernetes clusters.
• Secure routing across domains: Ability to create and manage secure routing paths between isolated domains or enclaves.
• Active secret clearance and full-time onsite support.

Responsibilities

• Design & Deploy Secure Networks.
• Architect and configure restricted computer networks and secure inter domain routes.
• Implement network segmentation, access controls, and policy enforcement across cloud and on premise resources.
• Cloud & Multicast Networking: build and manage cloud networking infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot multicast UDP and broadcast UDP traffic for high throughput applications.
• Software Defined & Hardware Defined Solutions: deploy and maintain SDN platforms and hardware appliances.
• Integrate network services with Kubernetes using CNI plugins and container networking.
• Hybrid Cloud Integration: connect remote cloud instances to on premise data centers.
• Automation & Monitoring: automate provisioning with IaC and monitor network health and security events.
• Collaboration & Documentation: define network access protocols and produce runbooks and knowledge base articles.
