Job summary

Accelerate Learning is seeking a Software Architect to own the architectural lifecycle for core curriculum and supplemental platforms. You will ensure performance, reliability, security, and maintainability while guiding hands-on delivery with engineering teams.

You will partner with Product, Curriculum, and Engineering to drive scalable cloud-native solutions, AI-enabled features, and robust integrations. The role emphasizes mentorship and architectural leadership in a fast-growing EdTech

Responsibilities

• Serve as Software Architect for core curriculum and services, owning end-to-end architectural integrity.
• Own maintenance and operability of production applications, ensuring health and operability.
• Own architectural health, debt, and modernization balancing with business needs.
• Lead maintainability efforts including re-architecture and migrations.
• Partner with Product/Engineering leadership to maintain a platform health backlog.
• Review architectural changes to production systems with a bias toward operability and rollback safety.
• Ensure integrations (LMS/LTI, identity, content delivery) remain secure and compliant.
• Define and measure non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, and security.
• Define performance targets and oversee testing strategies for production readiness.
• Establish observability standards and alerting baselines.
• Operate as an active delivery participant with hands-on contribution.
• Collaborate with Tech Leads to translate architecture to implementation.
• Participate in code/design reviews to enforce standards.
• Define future-state architecture for core curriculum platforms, scalable and innovative.
• Drive adoption of cloud-native architectures on AWS and Kubernetes-based patterns.
• Design AI systems to support tutoring and insights within products.
• Lead technical due diligence for new tools and vendors.
• Mentor senior engineers and cultivate engineering excellence.
• Provide architectural oversight on AI/ML, analytics, and content strategy.
