Job summary

HTC Global Services seeks a Principal Java & GCP Solution Architect to lead modern Java microservices design and a cloud-native strategy on GCP, while staying hands-on to drive practical delivery outcomes. You will guide engineering teams and act as a technical voice with senior client stakeholders in the Detroit area.

The role combines architecture with implementation, shaping API-first patterns, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes, and robust CI/CD pipelines across projects.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise Java applications.
• Deep expertise in Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience architecting microservices and distributed systems.
• Strong production-level architecture experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience designing and deploying applications using GCP cloud-native services.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Google Kubernetes Engine or comparable platforms.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and API-first architecture.
• Experience with GraphQL, gRPC, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous messaging.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or comparable messaging technologies.
• Knowledge of scalability, resilience, security, observability, and performance.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases including distributed models.
• Knowledge of API gateways and service-mesh technologies (Istio/Linkerd).
• Experience with CI/CD and DevOps toolchains (Jenkins, GitOps, ArgoCD, Terraform).
• Strong logging, monitoring, metrics, and distributed tracing design experience.
• Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Jaeger stacks.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and implementation of modern Java-based applications using cloud-native patterns.
• Translate business requirements into architectural blueprints aligned with enterprise standards.
• Provide technical thought leadership across client engagements.
• Assess and modernize existing application landscapes and migrations.
• Design secure, scalable, observable distributed systems.
• Define API-first architecture, deployment, and operational guidelines.
• Establish CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code approaches.
• Mentor senior developers, leads, and architects.
• Present architecture decisions to technical and business stakeholders.
