Job summary

TechDigital Group is seeking an experienced Java Cloud Engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-native applications on GCP. You will work with Java 17/21, Spring Boot, and microservices, building robust RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures with Kafka.

You will develop containerized services using Docker and deploy on Kubernetes (GKE/RKE). Collaboration with cross-functional teams, adherence to security and performance standards, and active participation in Agile ceremonies

Qualifications

5+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable cloud-native Java applications using Java 17/21, Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud platforms such as GCP.
Experience building scalable enterprise applications using Java 17/21, Spring Boot 4.x, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Hibernate.
Build and evolve microservices-based apps with domain-driven design, distributed systems, and cloud-native patterns.
Develop RESTful APIs and backend services with a focus on performance, security, reliability, and scalability.
Implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka with producer/consumer patterns.
Develop and optimize data persistence layers with Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server or other relational DBs.
Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into solutions.
Integrate apps with internal/external systems via APIs, messaging, and middleware.
Create containerized apps using Docker and deploy on Kubernetes (GKE, RKE, RKE2).
Leverage GCP services including GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Secret Manager.
Implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
Write unit, integration, and automated tests; follow TDD, code reviews, static analysis, and CI.
Monitor and troubleshoot with logging/observability tools like Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana.
Apply security, performance, resiliency, and operational best practices across SDLC.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive continuous improvement.
Experience with high-volume, mission-critical apps in large-scale distributed environments is preferred.

Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Integrate applications with internal/external systems via APIs, messaging platforms, and middleware.
Develop containerized apps with Docker and deploy on Kubernetes platforms such as GKE, RKE, and RKE2.
Utilize GCP services including GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Secret Manager for cloud-native apps.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
Write tests (unit/integration) and follow TDD, code reviews, static analysis, and CI practices.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues using Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Apply security, performance, resiliency, and ops best practices across the SDLC.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience with high-volume, mission-critical apps in large-scale distributed environments is preferred.
