Job summary

2Brains, a technology consultancy now part of Acid Labs, is seeking a software engineer to develop and maintain REST APIs and participate in event-driven workflows using queues or Pub/Sub.

You will work with Java 11+, Spring Boot, SQL and NoSQL databases, and cloud basics (GCP) while applying security best practices, writing tests, documenting code, and collaborating on pull requests to ensure production services run reliably.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience developing in Java 11+.
• Practical experience with Spring Boot (REST controllers, services, dependency injection).
• Experience with SQL databases (queries, joins, JPA/Hibernate).
• Knowledge (or willingness to learn) of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Firestore).
• Basic knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or willingness to learn, ideally Pub/Sub.
• Proficiency with Git for collaboration.
• Basic knowledge of Docker or interest in learning.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain REST APIs.
• Implement event-based processes using queues or Pub/Sub.
• Model and query SQL and NoSQL databases as needed.
• Apply basic security practices in development.
• Contribute to production stability and monitoring.
• Write tests, document code, and review PRs.
• Support system monitoring through logs, metrics, traces.
