Job summary

Expert Technology Services seeks an experienced AWS/Java Developer to support North Carolina DHHS-ITD data modernization efforts. The role focuses on refactoring legacy apps, migrating to AWS, and building Java-based cloud-native solutions with DevOps practices.

The candidate will work with Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, and AWS Data Lake architectures, employing Power BI or AWS QuickSight when needed, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of software development experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, AWS and cloud modernization.
• Experience building Java-based cloud-native applications and backend systems on AWS.
• Exposure to ETL tools, Power BI, AWS QuickSight and data analytics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Modernize legacy applications by refactoring and migrating to AWS cloud environments.
• Design, develop, and test Java-based cloud-native applications and backend systems.
• Develop enterprise applications using Java, J2EE, Spring, and Hibernate.
• Design and implement AWS solutions supporting Data Lakes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and modernization strategies.
• Apply DevOps practices and automation to development and deployment.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain clean, secure code.
• Monitor and optimize cloud apps for performance, security, and cost.
