Job summary

Government of North Carolina is seeking a Senior AWS Developer for a 12-month hybrid role in Raleigh. You will design and implement scalable AWS data lake solutions, modernize legacy apps, and lead data ingestion/processing with AWS services. Strong Python and Java experience plus DevOps and governance skills are required.

Qualifications

• Extensive AWS Data Lake development experience.
• Experience modernizing legacy apps to the cloud.
• Proficient with AWS services for enterprise data lakes.
• Data ingestion, processing, and transformation using AWS.
• Python scripting; OO languages a plus.
• Security, encryption, auditing, and governance knowledge.
• Experience with RDMS databases.
• DevOps, IaC, CI/CD, monitoring, logging.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum.
• Power BI or AWS QuickSight analytics a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and modernization strategies.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting throughout delivery.
• Advise on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Develop, test, debug and deliver within timeline using best practices.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges.
• Design and implement scalable, secure AWS solutions tailored to needs.
• Identify architectural risks and plan mitigations.
• Ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
• Communicate with non-technical audiences including senior stakeholders.
