Job summary

TransUnion is seeking a Lead Engineer, Applications Development to design, build, and operate large-scale Java-based enterprise applications and cloud-native microservices. You will drive architecture, implement REST APIs and event-driven services, and mentor engineers to adopt modern engineering practices.

The role emphasizes security, reliability, and performance, with a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to apply AI-powered tooling to improve productivity from a lead position.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience developing Java-based enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support large-scale Java-based enterprise applications and platforms.
• Lead architecture and implement cloud-native microservices-based solutions.
• Build high-volume, low-latency applications capable of meeting stringent availability and performance objectives.
• Design and develop REST APIs, event-driven services, and distributed systems that support global business operations.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive engineering best practices across the team.
• Implement CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, and software quality practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ensure platform reliability through monitoring, observability, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Apply security best practices, secure coding standards, and data protection controls for highly regulated and sensitive data environments.
• Utilize AI-assisted development tools and integrate AI-powered capabilities where appropriate to improve engineering productivity and solutions.
