Job summary

TransUnion LLC in Chicago IL seeks Directors of Software Engineering to lead multiple cross-functional teams and drive the modernization of enterprise software platforms across public and private clouds.

You will oversee the migration from legacy on‑prem systems to secure, cloud-native microservices, shaping API design and governance while advancing DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or any Engineering field, or a related field plus 2 years of experience as a Lead Engineer / Developer or in software architecture / design required.
• Must have proven track record for building great teams focused on continuous delivery and innovation; building low latency, high throughput, scalable, fault-tolerant systems; containerizing and running production systems in public cloud; API design; Unix/Linux; Python/Java; SQL databases; shell scripting; Git/Mercurial; Maven; UML.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for multiple cross-functional, geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Drive migration of legacy on-prem systems to cloud-native, microservices architectures; oversee API design and governance.
• Establish engineering best practices across DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, security, and reusable platform components.
