Job summary

Verisk Maplecroft seeks an experienced Cloud Native AWS Software Architect to design and develop cloud-hosted solutions for the insurance industry. You will drive architectural decisions, mentor teams, and ensure secure, scalable applications.

The role demands hands-on leadership, deep AWS expertise, and experience with microservices, serverless patterns, and modern web UI tech. Hybrid work in the Boston area is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years in software engineering with 2+ years as AWS cloud-native architect.
• Proven AWS-native SaaS design experience and full-stack apps.
• Experience with serverless (Lambda) and microservices on ECS/EKS.
• SQL and AWS data solutions (Redshift, Aurora, DynamoDB).
• Familiar with IaC tools and CI/CD pipelines; strong collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and development of cloud-hosted web apps for insurance.
• Define architectural standards and patterns for AWS-native SaaS products.
• Collaborate with product, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Drive domain-driven data models, APIs, and data products.
• Architect and implement microservices using modern frameworks and containers.
• Oversee CI/CD and DevOps for reliable, secure deployments.
• Design RESTful and GraphQL APIs with focus on performance.
• Develop frontend interfaces using HTML5, CSS/SCSS, TS, Angular/React.
• Ensure security best practices: IAM, encryption, API security, ISO 27001/SOC 2.
• Champion serverless and cloud-native principles; leverage AWS managed services.
