Job summary

Presidio is seeking a Migration Consultant - Modern Platforms to collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive migration engagements, and oversee migrations from on-prem, cloud, or hybrid environments. You will work under the Director of Modern Platforms, Migration and travel up to 15%.

The role requires strong knowledge in on-prem and cloud migration, including strategy design, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication, with a focus on secure, efficient transitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience or military experience.
• 3+ years of experience in the IT industry.
• 1+ years of migration experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Good understanding of IaaS and PaaS cloud services.
• Knowledge of the main infrastructure building blocks and their basic principles – compute, storage, networking.
• Good understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, MS Hyper-V)
• Knowledge of cloud or on-premise migration tools and strategies.
• Excellent project management and client communication skills.
• An eagerness to learn and adapt in a rapidly evolving field.
• Highly self‑motivated and directed, a self‑starter.
• Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize work, and meet timelines.
• Ability to properly diagram and document a working environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop migration strategy aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Assess current IT landscape and define migration scope.
• Choose hosting model and cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Develop cost, security, and compliance requirements for cloud adoption.
• Create detailed migration/transformation plans.
• Consolidate data sources and identify gaps for inventories.
• Plan rehosting, re-platforming, re-architecting, and legacy replacements.
• Identify dependencies and risks related to migrations.
• Provide services to optimize compute, storage, networking, and security.
