Job summary

Ethos Life is seeking an IT Engineer to lead the design and evolution of a cloud-first IT environment supporting the entire organization. You will partner with cross-functional teams to implement modern IT solutions, strengthen security posture, and drive operational excellence through automation.

The role emphasizes proactive problem solving, technical leadership, and the development of internal standards, frameworks, and IT strategy. You will mentor teammates and lead cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

5+ years of IT engineering, systems administration, or related cloud-first role.
Experience supporting SaaS-based IT infrastructure at scale.
Security-first mindset with hands-on security practices across IT systems and processes.
Experience managing macOS and Windows endpoints in a modern device management environment.
Deep expertise in Google Workspace administration, with Gmail management, routing, security, and deliverability.
Proofpoint experience or equivalent is a plus.
Experience with Slack, Okta, Jamf, Intune, and other endpoint management platforms.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage a fully cloud-based IT environment, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across SaaS platforms.
Apply a security-first mindset to all systems and processes, strengthening access controls, device posture, and risk mitigation.
Identify and implement automation opportunities to eliminate manual workflows and improve IT operations.
Serve as a technical leader and mentor, providing guidance and promoting best practices within the IT team.
Lead cross-functional IT projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver scalable IT solutions.
Evaluate, recommend, and implement new tools and technologies to enhance the IT ecosystem.
Design and build AI-powered agents and bots that automate IT workflows and identify new automation opportunities.
Develop and maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and standards for operational excellence.
Oversee administration and improvement of email and collaboration platforms (Google Workspace, Proofpoint) focusing on security and deliverability.
Act as a senior escalation point for complex IT issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions.
Dedicate up to 20% of time to handling escalated support tickets and onboarding new hires.
