Job summary

Ethos Life is seeking an experienced IT Engineer to design and evolve a cloud-first IT environment, driving security, scalability, and automation across the organization. You’ll lead cross-functional projects, mentor teammates, and implement modern IT solutions with an emphasis on best practices, email/security platforms, and proactive incident resolution.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable IT solutions, build AI-powered agents for automation, and maintain clear runbooks

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT Engineering, Systems Administration or similar in a cloud-first environment.
• Hands-on in security-first IT design and modern network security approaches.
• Proven ability to automate workflows via scripting or APIs and implement automation.
• Experience managing Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Okta, Jamf, Intune and related tools.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills for junior team members.

Job description

• As an IT Engineer, you’ll lead the design and evolution of our cloud-first IT environment, building scalable, secure, and highly efficient systems that support the entire organization. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams to implement modern IT solutions, strengthen security posture, and drive operational excellence through automation and thoughtful system design
• Design, implement, and manage a fully cloud-based IT environment, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across a range of SaaS platforms
• Apply a security-first mindset to all systems and processes, partnering cross-functionally to strengthen access controls, device posture, and overall risk mitigation
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to eliminate manual workflows and improve efficiency across IT operations
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor, providing guidance, sharing knowledge, and promoting best practices within the IT team
• Lead cross-functional IT projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand business needs and deliver scalable, effective IT solutions
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement new tools and technologies to continuously enhance the IT ecosystem
• Design and build AI-powered agents and bots that automate IT workflows, while proactively identifying new opportunities for agentic automation across IT operations
• Develop and maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and standards to support operational excellence and scalability
• Oversee the administration and continuous improvement of email and collaboration platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Proofpoint), with a focus on security and deliverability
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex IT issues, conducting deep root cause analysis and implementing long-term solutions
• Dedicate up to 20% of time to handling escalated support tickets and supporting new hire onboarding, ensuring timely resolution and a seamless employee experience
