Job summary

Rhoda AI is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate our cloud backbone powering data collection, field robotics, and model training. You’ll own reliability, latency, and scale across databases, data warehouses, and object storage.

Collaborate with research and robotics teams to translate needs into scalable, secure infrastructure with strong observability and on-call readiness.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Strong proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure including compute, networking, storage and managed DB services.
• Hands-on production experience with relational and NoSQL databases and performance tuning.
• Experience with data warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake) and large object storage (S3, GCS).
• Solid backend development skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems: consistency, availability, fault tolerance, latency trade-offs.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
• Proven ability to debug and resolve complex production incidents under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting data pipelines, robot operations, and model training workflows.
• Own reliability, availability, and latency of core infrastructure including databases and data warehouses.
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs exposing infrastructure capabilities.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across data and compute stack.
• Partner with research teams to translate infrastructure needs into scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with robotics teams to ensure field operations are reliably supported by low-latency services.
• Build observability tooling — metrics, logging, alerts — for proactive issue detection.
• Define infrastructure best practices around security, cost, and scalability.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident postmortems.
