Job summary

MacStadium is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Architect to own the platform architecture for the private and public cloud stack, including VPC, storage, and firewall services. You will lead the Platform team and guide infrastructure decisions across hardware, software, and product needs.

This senior role requires 7+ years in infra engineering, expertise in Kubernetes-based platforms, and strong collaboration with product and customers to translate requirements into scalable designs.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field preferred.
• 10+ years in infrastructure engineering or architecture.
• Experience with public or private cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with hyperconverged platforms for x86 virtualization.
• Experience designing high-scale storage systems.
• Familiarity with AWS or other public clouds.
• Knowledge of firewall platforms and multi-tenant security.
• Experience shaping Kubernetes-based infrastructures (storage, networking, nodes).
• Capacity planning and demand forecasting for physical infra.
• Ability to present architecture to customers and translate requirements into designs.
• Strong technical writing for architecture docs and service guidance.
• Vendor evaluation and hardware lifecycle management.
• GitOps and CI/CD via GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to ensure specifications and onboarding are aligned.
• Serve as SME for how compute, storage, and network security deliver features.
• Research and define BOMs and system configurations to drive innovation.
• Own technical documentation for service delivery on physical infrastructure.
• Meet with strategic customers with Product to map goals to infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Network Architect on traffic flow impacts.
• Lead Platform team planning, delivery, and execution of foundational projects.
• Collaborate with Service Delivery on rack-level hardware design.
