Job summary

NextPlay Jobs is assisting a nonprofit client in Rosemont, IL to hire an IT Infrastructure & Cloud Manager with AWS and Microsoft 365 expertise. This hands-on leader will run the infrastructure and end-user tech operations, coach a small team, and stay technically involved across cloud, networking, and security.

The role demands 10+ years IT experience and 5+ years of people management, with strong AWS and MS 365 credentials. Hybrid onsite work is required in the Chicago area.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive IT experience.
• 5+ years of people management or supervisory experience.
• Hands-on leadership with AWS and Microsoft 365.
• Experience administering AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, backups, security).
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune).
• Strong networking and security knowledge.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop infrastructure team (Senior Systems Administrator + 2).
• Oversee day-to-day IT, cloud, systems administration, and end-user operations.
• Hands-on troubleshooting, escalations, and infrastructure initiatives.
• Administer Microsoft 365 production environments (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune).
• Manage and optimize AWS production infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, IAM, backups, monitoring, security).
• Oversee network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, firewalls).
• Manage office/server-room infrastructure (servers, networking, storage, UPS, AV).
• Oversee internal Help Desk, tickets, SLAs, escalations, end-user support.
• Oversee hardware/software procurement, licensing, inventory, asset lifecycle.
• Assist with IT budgeting, invoicing, cloud cost management.
• Partner with cybersecurity stakeholders to ensure security best practices.
