Job summary

Canonical is a leading open source software company behind Ubuntu, offering a remote-first engineering role. You will develop Linux-based cloud infrastructure, build automation pipelines, and contribute to open source projects alongside world-class partners.

You will collaborate with teams globally, and travel 2–4 weeks per year for internal and external events, while working from home in a distributed setup. A strong emphasis on automation and scalable systems is central to this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM or similar field.
• Practical experience with public clouds.
• Experience with Python on Linux.
• Experience with containers, APIs, open source projects, and cloud-based apps (3+).

Responsibilities

• Build automated image delivery, testing and publication pipelines.
• Design, build, and integrate features into Ubuntu for cloud users.
• Collaborate with distributed team.
• Write high-quality code and features.
• Architect complex systems and cloud integrations.
• Debug and fix issues in codebase.
