Job summary

Archer, in collaboration with Verisk, seeks a FinOps Engineer to help manage cloud costs and optimize infrastructure for the FAST platform. You will contribute to FinOps practices, establish budgets and alerts, analyze patterns, and assist forecasting and planning across teams.

You will document procedures, support budgeting, and propose cost-saving opportunities while focusing on automation and clear communication with stakeholders. AWS knowledge and a curious mindset about AI are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, IT or system support, or similar related experience.
• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and general cloud computing concepts.
• Interest in AI and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn how they apply to cloud optimization.
• Moderate understanding of infrastructure metrics, monitoring, and analytics.
• Must have passion for technology and a focus on automation.
• Must have excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
• AWS Certification(s) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities to propose improvements or new solutions
• Support various internal teams with cloud cost information, preparing budgets and recommending limits on usage to senior management
• Prepare cost estimates and forecasts for new architectures, and continuously improve pricing models for existing architectures
• Document procedures, configurations, and best practices
