Verisk Analytics is seeking a FinOps Engineer to help manage cloud costs and optimize infrastructure. You will establish budgets and alerts, analyze cost trends, and forecast planning needs while collaborating with multiple internal teams to improve processes and financial models.

The role emphasizes automation, speed, and accuracy in cost estimations, with attention to scalable pricing models and effective communication across leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, IT or system support.
• Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and general cloud computing concepts.
• Interest in AI and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn how they apply to cloud optimization.
• Moderate understanding of infrastructure metrics, monitoring, and analytics.
• Must have passion for technology and a focus on automation.
• Must have excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
• AWS Certification(s) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities to propose improvements or new solutions.
• Support various internal teams with cloud cost information, preparing budgets and recommending limits on usage to senior management.
• Prepare cost estimates and forecasts for new architectures, and continuously improve pricing models for existing architectures.
• Document procedures, configurations, and best practices.
