The Role

This position collaborates with the Senior Manager of Cloud Operations to develop and review strategic plans for reliable, scalable, and cost-effective systems that meet standards. The manager will lead the Cloud team to reduce costs while increasing security, reliability, and capabilities. The role involves guiding development practices, supporting professional growth, and ensuring project success within the team.

Job Duties

1. Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to the team daily.
2. Establish operational objectives and work plans to meet goals.
3. Implement and oversee strategic plans.
4. Delegate tasks to team members to achieve objectives.
5. Develop departmental policies for Cloud leadership.
6. Manage resource utilization, including planning, staffing, and budgeting.
7. Conduct performance feedback and formal appraisals.
8. Support employee goal setting and achievement.
9. Address barriers, advocate for team members, and promote professional development.
10. Plan for succession and professional growth.
11. Ensure policy and procedure compliance.
12. Handle employee relations issues and provide guidance.
13. Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 system support.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Network Operations, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years experience with public cloud platforms and complex environments.
• 7+ years experience in application refactoring, hosting, and migration.
• 3+ years leadership experience in technical teams.
• Extensive experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, Bash.
• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Proficiency with Terraform, build & CI tools, databases, network design, and security models.
• Automation mindset and experience automating manual processes.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Availability for on-call support, certifications are a plus.
