We are hiring an Engineering Manager. The BootStack team designs, builds, and operates modern distributed systems on private infrastructure for customers. From Kubernetes to OpenStack and beyond, you'll work with the latest technology in a dynamic engineering environment. As a Cloud Engineering Manager for the BootStack team, you will manage engineers overseeing the day-to-day managed service of customer environments, including customer service, operations, and product improvement engineering. Collaboration with customers, product engineering, and operations is essential for success.

Location: This is a globally remote role.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing a growing engineering team to optimize quality and velocity of development and operations
• Monitoring team health indicators
• Implementing disciplined engineering and operations processes
• Representing the BootStack team with stakeholders, customers, and external teams
• Ensuring focus on priorities, milestones, and deliverables
• Meeting service level agreements for global customer deployments
• Delivering quality managed services efficiently and consistently

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology field
• Proven experience in software delivery using Python, Go, C, C++, Java, or managing operations teams
• Experience with OpenStack
• Strong commitment to testing methodologies and maintainable code
• Linux system administration experience, Ubuntu/Debian preferred
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Experience with agile methodologies
• Experience managing distributed teams
• Technical understanding of complex distributed systems
• Knowledge of cloud topologies and technologies
• Willingness to travel about 20% for team and customer meetings
