SMX is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join a fast-paced team supporting national defense programs. On-site Mon-Fri in Chantilly, VA, Herndon, VA, or Aurora, CO, the role emphasizes cloud capabilities, security clearances, and modern systems engineering practices.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years building and deploying cloud-enabled systems, strong automation skills, and hands-on experience with Docker/OpenShift/Kubernetes within IaC and CI/CD environments.

Competenze

• Must have TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• Security+ CE or equivalent certification is required.
• Minimum 4+ years in building, deployment, release automation, or orchestration.

Mansioni

• Lead design and integration of cloud-agnostic architectures for mission objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system performance.
• Conduct assessments, troubleshoot issues, and recommend enhancements.
• Prepare technical diagrams and reports for stakeholders.
• Guide architecture for Windows Server–based enterprise IT systems.
• Assess current environments and plan migrations with risk analyses.
• Develop workload migration plans with timelines and mitigations.
• Align architecture plans with project goals and timelines.
• Provide oversight during implementation to ensure compliance.
• Scale modern system engineering practices across networks and systems.
