Job summary

SMX is seeking Cloud Systems Engineers (Junior to SME) to design and implement secure, scalable multi-cloud infrastructure and services in support of USAF cloud migration. You will work across AWS and other clouds, onboard accounts, patch systems, and build pipelines using IaC and automation.

The role requires DoD 8570 Sec+ certification, security clearance (Secret), and hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, Ansible, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification plus 4 years’ experience for mid-level.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification plus 8 years’ experience for senior-level.
• Master’s degree or equivalent certification plus 16 years’ experience for SME-level.
• Active Security Clearance Required: Secret.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and optimize secure cloud solutions in AWS, Azure, Google, and/or Oracle environments.
• Lead and/or support cloud migration strategies and establish environments across classified and unclassified networks.
• Implement automation for provisioning, configuration, security, and monitoring using DevOps best practices.
• Support infrastructure security design, patching, and compliance documentation to support governance and ATO processes.
• Develop and apply engineering methods for cloud environments.
