Job summary

SMX is seeking a Software Developer for an on‑site role in Chantilly, VA or nearby with other VA locations and Aurora, CO. You will develop Java RESTful services, leverage SpringBoot, and deploy via Docker/Kubernetes with Helm charts while adhering to DoD‑level security standards.

Your work includes collaborating across teams, writing clean code, and optimizing performance in a fast‑paced environment. A TS/SCI CI Poly and Security+ are required, with on‑site support Mon‑Fri.

Qualifications

• Security+ certification required.
• Active TS/SCI CI Polygraph clearance.
• Experience in Java development with SpringBoot and related libraries.
• Experience deploying RESTful services with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Experience with Kafka, MongoDB, ActiveMQ, NiFi.
• Containers deployed to Kubernetes using Helm Charts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and deploy features.
• Write clean, maintainable Java code and deploy using Gitlab/Gitlab Runner, Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Use Jira to manage and track project work.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and protocols.
