Job summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud environments in support of DoD-focused geolocation solutions. The role emphasizes IaC, secure architectures, and reliable operations across global deployments.

The candidate will work with Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools to ensure performance, cost efficiency, and robust disaster recovery while aligning with security and governance requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience provisioning, configuring, and managing cloud infrastructure and services (compute, storage, networking, IAM).
• Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable cloud architectures.
• Experience developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, etc.
• Knowledge of containers and platform workloads (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS/GKE).
• Experience configuring monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, etc.
• Experience implementing backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
• Experience managing secrets and key management with KMS/KeyVault/Secret Manager, certificates, and rotation policies.
• Experience optimizing cloud cost and performance (tagging, budgets, rightsizing, autoscaling).
• Experience troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues across networking, security, and service limits.
• Experience documenting architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures.
• Experience with Linux OS

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure with governance and best practices.
• Build reusable IaC modules (e.g., Terraform, Helm) and enforce coding standards.
• Monitor health and performance, diagnose issues, and implement improvements.
• Develop strategies for backup, DR, HA, and cost optimization.
• Contribute to runbooks, architectures, and operational procedures; share knowledge.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and propose enhancements.
