Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Cloud Engineer to modernize, secure, and sustain enterprise applications across cloud environments. You will design, test, and deploy changes, collaborating with software engineers, DevSecOps, and IT operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

The role emphasizes CI/CD, automation, and DevOps best practices within a government‑scale CMS contract, with a strong focus on security, compliance, and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT; 3 years software development experience; 4 additional years may substitute for a degree.
• 2 years of cloud technologies experience.
• Experience managing and optimizing DevOps practices.
• Deep understanding of DevOps principles, tools, and methodologies.
• Strong communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
• Experience with CI/CD processes for automation.
• Experience developing and updating technical documentation.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Assess capabilities and expand DevOps adoption for cloud transitions.
• Analyze data migration, security, and compliance for cloud transformation.
• Collaborate with System Administrators to plan cloud operations daily.
• Leverage Ansible and automation to streamline tasks.
• Plan, test, and deploy security patches and upgrades; manage patches.
• Design, develop, and test software changes for cloud transitions.
• Develop and coordinate deployment plans for cloud environments.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and resource utilization in cloud.
