Socket.dev is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead a team responsible for the design, deployment, and optimization of scalable multi-cloud environments. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of cloud infra engineering and Linux sysadmin experience.
• Proficiency in Shell scripting for automation.
• Expertise in Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) incl. security and tuning.
• Hands-on with Kickstart and Cobbler for provisioning.
• Deep VMware virtualization knowledge.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and OCI services (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, Load Balancers, Monitoring).
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, storage, and security best practices.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, configuration management, and monitoring tools.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a team of cloud infra engineers, providing guidance.
• Design, implement, and manage multi-cloud cloud infra solutions.
• Automate system tasks with Shell scripting.
• Administer Linux systems, provisioning, monitoring, and security hardening.
• Configure servers with Kickstart and Cobbler.
• Maintain virtualization environments with VMware for performance and fault tolerance.
• Apply best-practice cloud security, backup, DR, and compliance.
• Partner with dev, security, and networking teams for seamless integration.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot to ensure high availability.
• Stay current with cloud tech and drive continuous improvement.
