Job summary

Nortex Cyber Solutions in Maryland is seeking a cloud engineer to design, deploy, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure in a hybrid work environment.

You will build IaC, manage Docker and Kubernetes deployments, implement CI/CD pipelines, and ensure security, compliance, and disaster recovery for government-focused projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required or equivalent experience.
• 5-6 years of experience supporting cloud infrastructure and deployments is preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Requirements:

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• Configure and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and security.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and production issues.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and operational processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve application deployment and reliability.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for cloud environments.

Skills

• Experience supporting Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Azure Bicep, or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Linux system administration.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and cloud architecture.
• Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5-6 years of experience supporting cloud infrastructure and deployments preferred.
• Experience supporting production cloud environments.
• Experience supporting government or Department of Defense programs is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and through virtual collaboration tools.
