Job summary

Cogent People Inc. seeks a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support a mission-critical system serving the Federal Government in healthcare. You’ll work with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux-based operations to design, implement, and maintain cloud services.

The role requires 1+ years of AWS experience, readiness for a Public Trust Clearance, and a hybrid work arrangement with Maryland onsite days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 1+ years of experience with AWS.
• 1+ years of experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• 1+ years of experience with Linux operations and scripting (bash/python).
• Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support design, implementation, and maintenance of foundational cloud and infrastructure services.
• Support CI/CD toolchain integration, maintenance, change management, and testing.
• Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources across environments with security and standards in mind.
• Monitor system performance and health, escalate issues, and assist in troubleshooting.
• Participate in routine cloud operations including patching and configuration changes.
• Assist with incident response and root-cause analysis.

Job Overview:

Cogent People Inc. is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support a mission-critical large-scale system serving the Federal Government in the healthcare domain. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud operations.

Responsibilities:

• Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of foundational cloud and infrastructure services.
• Support CI/CD toolchain integration, maintenance, change management, and testing.
• Assist in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining cloud resources and infrastructure components across environments, ensuring compliance with established standards and security requirements.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and health, escalating issues as needed and contributing to troubleshooting efforts for infrastructure, network, and cloud service disruptions.
• Participate in routine cloud operations activities including maintenance, patching, and configuration changes.
• Assist with incident response and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of experience with AWS.
• 1+ years of experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
• 1+ years of experience with Linux operations, including scripting (bash, Python).
• Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality and accurate work.
• Proven ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of the team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in federal government programs or regulated environments (CMS experience is preferred).
• Relevant certifications (AWS, Terraform, Linux, Kubernetes) are a plus.
