Job summary

Nortex Cyber is seeking a Cloud Engineer in Maryland to design, deploy, and secure cloud infrastructure that supports mission-critical applications. You will build scalable, automated environments and improve deployment reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

You will implement IaC with Terraform/Azure Bicep, manage Docker/Kubernetes, and drive CI/CD pipelines while ensuring compliance and strong collaboration with development teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 5-6 years of cloud infrastructure and deployment experience.
• Experience with government or DoD programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• Configure and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.

LOCATION: This will be a hybrid position based out of Maryland

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications. This role focuses on building scalable, automated cloud environments while improving deployment reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
• Configure and support containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

Skills

• Experience supporting Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Azure Bicep, or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Linux system administration.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals and cloud architecture.
• Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5-6 years of experience supporting cloud infrastructure and deployments preferred.
• Experience supporting production cloud environments.
• Experience supporting government or Department of Defense programs is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and through virtual collaboration tools.
