Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks an Engagement Manager to understand customer missions and define project goals, leading teams and coordinating across stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions.

You will guide customers through their cloud journey, leverage AWS mechanisms, and manage scope, schedule, and cost using agile delivery methods. This customer-facing role requires travel and delivering professional services as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of technical specialist, design and architecture experience.
• 5+ years of database experience (SQL/NoSQL/Hadoop/Spark/Kafka/Kinesis).
• 7+ years of consulting, design and implementation of serverless distributed solutions.
• 5+ years of software development with object oriented language experience.
• 3+ years of cloud based solution, system, network and operating system experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with State Local Government and Education customers to envision transformational cloud initiatives.
• Deliver business objectives by managing a matrixed team across multi-stream, agile, technical engagements for customers.
• Plan, organize, and manage all phases of a project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery, including requirements, governance, schedules, budgets, and milestones.
• Ensure goal alignment across stakeholder groups and create audience-tailored updates from executives to sprint plans and financial reports.
• Apply judgement to challenge, recommend, and redirect teams and manage client expectations during the engagement.
