Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a backend cloud engineer to join our Public Cloud engineering team in Bellevue, WA. You will help deliver and operate a large-scale distributed system that powers millions of users, emphasizing reliability, security, and performance.

You will design and implement core services, contribute to open source, and work with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and other modern tooling across distributed data centers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend software development experience (Python) with Cloud Architecture.
• Strong Linux admin and troubleshooting skills; deep Linux internals knowledge.
• Proven Python experience; solid OOP, data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
• Experience with public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) at scale.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and infrastructure automation tools.
• Ability to automate DNS and infrastructure management with AI-assisted tools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cloud infrastructure automation tools, frameworks, workflows, and validation platforms on our public cloud platforms
• Designing, developing, debugging, and operating resilient distributed systems that run across thousands of compute nodes in multiple data centers
• Using and contributing to open source technology
• Developing Infrastructure-as-Code
• Writing microservices on containerization frameworks such as Kubernetes, Docker, Mesos
• Resolving complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability, resilience, and performance
• Balancing live-site management, feature delivery, and retirement of technical debt
• Participate in the team's on-call rotation to address complex problems in real-time and keep services operational and highly available
