Job summary

City of New York seeks an IT Infrastructure Engineer to function as a Cloud DevOps and Application Migration Engineer. The role focuses on assessing architectures, creating migration plans, and driving cloud readiness across multiple systems.

The position requires a CS/engineering degree and several years in datacenter or cloud operations, with strong CI/CD and collaboration skills. Normal hours are 9:00am–5:00pm, on-site at NYC ITS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field and four years of experience in datacenter/cloud engineering.
• Experience with cloud migration and modernization approaches.
• Ability to design and implement CI/CD pipelines and automation across cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Assess application architecture, dependencies, data flows, and security requirements for cloud migration or modernization.
• Collaborate with analysts, owners, developers, and vendors to define migration requirements and close gaps.
• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins for cloud deployments.
• Assist teams in modernizing legacy .NET, Java, and API components for cloud readiness.
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, alerts, and dashboards using cloud-native/enterprise tools.
• Coordinate migration activities across teams and vendors to manage dependencies and risks.
• Provide technical guidance on cloud deployment processes, pipelines, and container practices.
