Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Cloud and DevOps Engineer II to join our Clinical Solutions team in Sylmar, CA for Abbott Medical Devices. The Cloud and DevOps Engineer, Level 2 - will assist in the implementation and maintenance of custom-built software solutions as well as enterprise-grade cloud solutions for our clinical trial management systems.

This role focuses on supporting the automation of deployment for cloud infrastructure and services, with a significant emphasis on building and optimizing CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years work experience.
• Familiar with Agile methodologies.
• Understanding of test-driven development.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps on-premises.
• Automate cloud infrastructure and services to improve efficiency.
• Manage Azure infrastructure and architecture (PaaS and IaaS).
• Develop Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, ARM, and related tools.
• Collaborate with developers, security, and compliance teams to enhance reliability and cost-efficiency.
• Monitor observability for infrastructure, security, and microservices using Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor.
• Develop scripts using Python, PowerShell, and Bash to optimize operations.
• Design automated solutions for provisioning and management of cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Work with engineering teams to optimize data management, storage, processing, and security.
• Support capacity management across cloud and on‑prem resources.
