Abbott in Sylmar, CA is seeking a Cloud and DevOps Engineer II to join the Clinical Solutions team. You will help implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate cloud infrastructure, and manage Azure PaaS and IaaS services to support clinical trial software.

The role emphasizes IaC with Terraform and Ansible, collaboration with security and compliance teams, and improving reliability and cost-efficiency across cloud and on‑prem environments. Strong communication required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum 2 years work experience.
• Moderate knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Moderate understanding of test-driven methodologies.
• Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps on-premises.
• Automate cloud infrastructure and services to improve efficiency.
• Manage Azure infrastructure and architecture (PaaS and IaaS).
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform, Ansible, ARM, and related tools.
• Collaborate with security and compliance to improve reliability and cost-efficiency.
• Monitor observability for infrastructure and microservices using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Develop scripts in Python, PowerShell, and Bash to optimize operations.
• Contribute to automated solutions for provisioning and management.
• Work with engineering teams to optimize data management and security.
• Support capacity management across cloud and on‑prem resources.
