Job summary

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, test, and maintain software components of moderate complexity within cross-functional agile teams. You will leverage object-oriented programming and RESTful services to deliver robust software aligned with quality standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to design controls, and the ability to work with cloud-based frameworks (Azure/AWS).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 4 years of experience in software development.
Experience developing software with object-oriented code.
RESTful web services, relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server), and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate, Entities Framework).
Designing and developing apps that access cloud-based frameworks (Azure, AWS).
Agile development tools including JIRA and Confluence.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software components of moderate complexity under guidance.
Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to deliver high-quality software.
Build features, investigate and fix bugs, write tests, and participate in design reviews.
Communicate status updates to the project team and stakeholders.
