Job summary

Abacus Insights is hiring a DevOps Engineer on a contract basis to strengthen our telemetry, reliability, and deployment capabilities for healthcare-focused platforms.

You will build secure, scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, develop CI/CD pipelines, and guide infrastructure-as-code practices while collaborating with engineering, product, and security teams to raise our operational standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of development experience on complex systems.
• Strong cloud experience, AWS preferred.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems administration and networking.
• Experience implementing a CI/CD system (GitLab/Jenkins/Travis).
• Knowledge of containerization: Docker and Kubernetes.
• Fluent with Bash, Python, or Terraform.
• Understanding of best practices for maintainable, portable apps.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain secure, scalable, HIPAA- and HITRUST-compliant infrastructure on multiple cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
• Contribute to DevOps architecture best practices and CI/CD and IaC approaches.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to design robust infrastructure solutions.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Python-based scripts to automate testing, validation, and deployment workflows.
• Build and manage containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, and self-hosted).
• Implement monitoring and observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
• Support the design, implementation, and adoption of our custom Python- and Cloud-based deployment platform for continuous delivery.
• Promote best practices within the team and organization.
