Job summary

Kemper is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Birmingham office in a hybrid capacity. You will help design, implement, and improve enterprise DevOps and platform engineering across on-premise and AWS environments, focusing on secure, scalable pipelines and automated release processes.

Work with Jenkins, GitLab, Artifactory/Xray, SonarQube, and AWS-based services while collaborating with application, cloud, security, and operations teams to optimize developer experience and platform

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent DevOps experience.
Hands-on AWS cloud and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Experience with Git-based source control and enterprise Git platforms.
Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash/PowerShell, .NET or Java).
Experience with containers, Kubernetes/EKS and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure quality, reliability, security, and efficiency of DevOps platforms and tooling.
Maintain and improve CI/CD processes for automated builds, tests, releases, and deployments.
Design and automate cloud/hybrid infra using AWS services and container platforms.
Provide IaC and automation for AWS, Linux, and Windows environments.
Support Jenkins, GitLab, Artifactory/Xray, SonarQube, and AWS services.
Assist with Kubernetes/EKS workloads, configuration, access, observability, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with security/infra teams on vulnerability management and secure configs.
