Job summary

Kemper is seeking a Cloud/Infrastructure Architect to lead architecture across multiple infrastructure teams in the US. You will align roadmap, design detailed architectures, and hands-on engineering across IT and development groups.

The role focuses on architecture leadership, vendor coordination, platform planning, and ensuring DevOps and cloud strategy alignment. Office-based position with collaboration across locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive technical experience.
• Experience with AWS, Cloud migration, DevOps, Kubernetes and IaC.
• Performance analysis and tuning of cloud/infrastructure systems.
• Design and implement complex technical solutions in a domain.
• Proficient in at least one major programming language and related frameworks.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Position works at the Kemper office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with analysts, development and engineering teams to translate requirements into architectural designs.
• Design robust, scalable, and secure solutions for applications, systems or platforms.
• Ensure adherence to architectural standards and best practices across projects.
• Evaluate and select new technologies and tools in the domain.
• Provide technical guidance to development teams throughout SDLC.
• Conduct design reviews and code walkthroughs for architectural compliance.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks in solution design and implementation.
• Document architectures, specifications, and system diagrams.
• Stay current with evolving technologies and industry trends.
