Job summary

Cayuse Holdings is seeking a Cloud Developer, Mid, to leverage AI coding assistants for efficient, secure software delivery. The role emphasizes validation, security, and quality while aligning with Cayuse values of Innovation and Integrity.

You will work across back-end Java/Spring Boot, Angular front-end, and PostgreSQL, with AWS cloud deployment and security at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Java/Spring Boot, Angular and PostgreSQL.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows and deploying on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and refactor backend Java/Spring Boot and frontend Angular code.
• Develop and optimize PostgreSQL database interactions.
• Utilize AI tools for boilerplate code generation and test creation.
• Ensure AI-generated code adheres to security and AWS best practices.
• Validate AI outputs by debugging and refining code to prevent issues.
• Conduct code reviews and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with architecture teams to align with business goals.

Job description

Overview

The Cloud Developer, Mid will demonstrate the ability to effectively leverage AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude, Amazon Q Developer) to enhance efficiency and accelerate delivery. This role requires stringent oversight to validate, secure, and optimize complex enterprise code. Only those with a passion for innovation, precision, and hands-on problem-solving need apply.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and refactor back-end code using Java (Spring Boot) and front-end code using Angular (v17 or higher) to ensure maintainability and scalability.
• Develop and optimize database interactions using PostgreSQL.
• Utilize AI tools for boilerplate code generation, unit test creation, and application modernization tasks.
• Ensure all AI-generated code strictly adheres to security protocols, AWS cloud architecture best practices, and PostgreSQL database standards.
• Validate AI outputs manually by debugging, optimizing, and refining code to prevent integration challenges and resolve low-quality abstractions.
• Conduct comprehensive code reviews and implement performance enhancements to improve system efficiency and maintainability.
• Collaborate with architecture teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise business requirements and long-term project goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of overall software engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in:
  • Java/Spring Boot: At least 3+ years of experience developing secure, scalable services.
  • Angular (v17 or higher): At least 3+ years of experience building responsive and dynamic front-end interfaces.
  • PostgreSQL: Over 3+ years of experience implementing and optimizing relational database schemas and queries.
• Hands-on experience in AI-assisted development workflows, showcasing the ability to harness AI tools for software development while maintaining rigorous oversight and quality assurance.
• Exceptional proficiency in debugging and resolving system issues.
• Strong expertise in modern architectural design patterns, ensuring AI agents adhere to best practices in architecture and code structuring.
• Hands-on experience with deploying and managing applications in AWS cloud environments.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance required.
• Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills Required:

• Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with diverse technical teams.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in dynamic project environments.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements, identify gaps, and coordinate with specialized teams to resolve them.
