Job summary

Cayuse Holdings seeks a Mid Software Engineer to support full stack development, lifecycle, and architecture across modern .NET-based applications in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will enhance existing systems, upgrade legacy code, and deliver scalable front-end and back-end solutions while ensuring security and performance, with strong emphasis on government and contractor engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience with .NET development and full stack applications.
• C# programming expertise.
• Strong understanding of the .NET Framework.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and its integration within front-end ecosystems.
• Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) for database design and management.
• Experience with Telerik UI components.
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
• Must be able to pass a background check; additional background checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with system owners to gather, analyze, document, and refine functional requirements for system enhancements and updates.
• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve system issues to ensure continuous availability and reliability.
• Perform regular maintenance tasks, including system monitoring, debugging, and patching.
• Upgrade the existing application to the latest versions to ensure security, compliance, and optimal performance.
• Design, develop, and deploy new full stack .NET-based web applications and solutions to meet stakeholder requirements.
• Create scalable and secure solution architectures for new projects.
• Develop and optimize both front-end and back-end components, ensuring high-performance and efficient functionality.
• Build and implement user-friendly interfaces using Telerik tools combined with JavaScript for front-end experiences.
• Utilize C# and .NET Framework to create robust, backend systems for data processing.
• Perform database design, development, and optimization using MSSQL.
• Actively engage with government and contractor stakeholders to define project objectives and ensure successful delivery.
• Work in cross-functional teams within an Agile development methodology (if applicable).
• Document technical solutions, processes, and integrations for knowledge sharing and system continuity.
• Other duties as assigned.

Overview

The Software Engineer, Mid will be responsible for supporting all aspects of full stack development, including addressing enhancements, resolving system issues, and implementing performance improvements. The engineer will work through all phases of the application lifecycle, from requirement gathering and development to production support. This role also involves creating solution architecture for new initiatives, building new applications from scratch, upgrading legacy systems to the latest versions, and addressing performance bottlenecks.

Minimum Skills Required:

• Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in dynamic project environments.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements, identify gaps, and coordinate with specialized teams to resolve them.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Knowledge of and experience working in Agile development methodologies.
