In this role, you will contribute to the modernization and secure operation of Azure environments, partnering with development and operations teams to improve infrastructure management and support important migration initiatives. Bow Wave LLC is seeking an experienced Azure Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer to support cloud infrastructure design, delivery, and operations. In this role, you will contribute to the modernization and secure operation of Azure environments, partnering with development and operations teams to improve infrastructure management and support important migration initiatives. You will help bring cloud resources under consistent management, strengthen security practices, and enable reliable, repeatable deployments through automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
This position combines Azure cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, DevOps practices, and security remediation. You will design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure across compute, networking, and storage services. A key focus will be modernizing the infrastructure repository by identifying Azure resources that are not currently managed through source control and incorporating them into a maintainable IaC approach, primarily using PowerShell. You will also configure and support CI/CD pipelines, analyze security findings, and work with cross-functional partners to deliver practical, secure, and dependable cloud solutions.
A bachelor’s degree is required, along with at least eight years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-focused roles. Candidates should bring strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and experience automating infrastructure and operational workflows. Proficiency with PowerShell is important; experience with ARM templates, Terraform, or Ansible is also valuable. You should understand cloud security remediation, governance, and compliance, and be able to assess findings, prioritize risks, and help implement effective corrective actions.
Successful candidates communicate clearly, approach technical problems methodically, and collaborate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment is required. Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD is preferred. Microsoft Azure certifications in architecture, administration, or DevOps are an advantage, as are relevant AWS certifications. Experience with hybrid cloud environments, Docker or Kubernetes, and advanced networking is also beneficial.
Design, implement, and manage Azure infrastructure, including compute, network, and storage resources. Review existing environments and update infrastructure repositories so that unmanaged cloud resources are brought under source control. Refactor and maintain IaC, primarily with PowerShell, to promote consistency, repeatability, and clear change tracking. Automate deployments and operational processes using appropriate IaC tools, scripts, and DevOps practices.
Configure, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines that support dependable delivery. Review Azure security scan results, investigate findings, and remediate critical and high-priority issues in alignment with applicable security and compliance expectations. Monitor cloud environments, troubleshoot service and infrastructure problems, and identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency. Collaborate with development, operations, and other partner teams on cloud initiatives, migrations, and day-to-day delivery. Share Azure best practices and contribute to documentation and operational improvements that help teams manage infrastructure effectively.
Bow Wave LLC offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful cloud modernization and security work while collaborating with experienced technology teams. The role provides exposure to Azure architecture, infrastructure automation, CI/CD practices, security remediation, and migration initiatives. Specific compensation, benefits, and employment details can be discussed during the hiring process.
