Job summary

FORTEC Integrated is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own the database stack across CloudSQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB. You’ll optimize performance, ensure security, and drive cost efficiency in a high-availability, globally monitored environment.

You’ll work with developers and infra teams to design scalable data models, lead migrations, and implement robust backup/recovery. Expect on-call readiness and a strong focus on observability and governance.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of experience as a Database Administrator in high-performance production environments.
• Deep technical expertise in MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB, incl. cloud deployments (GCP/AWS).
• Proven ability to significantly improve query performance and reduce cloud costs.
• Experience with HA/DR, failover clusters, replication, backup/recovery.
• Scripting/Automation: Python, Bash, PowerShell; T-SQL/PLpgSQL; idempotent automation.
• Willingness to participate in on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain CloudSQL/PostgreSQL (main focus) and other DBs.
• Own data pipelines and processing layers for performance and reliability.
• Tune queries and right-size instances to optimize cloud costs.
• Implement encryption, data masking, and SOC2/GDPR/PCI compliance.
• Design HA/DR strategies to ensure zero data loss and reliability.
• Integrate observability into the monitoring stack and act on bottlenecks.
• Lead migrations and schema changes with minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with architects to ensure scalable data models and tooling.
