Job summary

Invesco is seeking a Database Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise database platforms across on‑premises and AWS.

You will work on SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments, focusing on high availability, performance tuning, automation, and cloud migrations with RDS/Aurora/DynamoDB, collaborating with infrastructure, application, and security teams to deliver reliable data solutions.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience supporting and administering SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery concepts (Always On, replication, backups).
• Experience migrating and modernizing in AWS (RDS, Aurora).
• Proficiency with SQL Server technologies (T-SQL, admin, tuning).
• Scripting/automation: PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or similar.
• Knowledge of on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud ops.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Splunk).
• DevOps practices: Git, IaC concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support database engineering initiatives and contribute to project delivery and platform enhancements.
• Maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments ensuring availability, security, performance, and reliability.
• Follow database standards and operational procedures.
• Assist with performance tuning, query optimization, schema changes, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in incident resolution and root cause analysis.
• Support cloud adoption and migrations to AWS using DMS/SCT and related services.
• Improve system reliability through automation, monitoring, patching, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams.
