Job summary

Oracle is seeking engineers to design and build high-scale, cloud-based data processing systems on OCI infrastructure. You will participate in design discussions, implement cloud services, and take software from development through production and support.

We value candidates with experience in distributed data processing, Java and Ruby, and the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required with ability to obtain federal clearance
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science or related field
• Experience with distributed data processing systems (Hadoop, Kafka, HBase)
• Proficient in Java and Ruby; strong design and distributed systems knowledge
• Strong written and spoken communication; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed, scalable, fault-tolerant software systems
• Implement cloud services on OCI infrastructure
• Contribute across design, development, QA, and production life cycle
• Adopt engineering and operational practices to ensure high quality software
• Optimize data pipelines for throughput and latency
• Leverage tools to develop, build, deploy, and troubleshoot software
