Job summary

JobFluent seeks a seasoned Data Platform Architect to own the enterprise data platform architecture, driving design, governance, and vendor oversight. The role demands hands-on leadership with cloud-native architectures on AWS and event-driven solutions using Kafka, plus IaC with Terraform.

You will guide internal teams and external partners, ensure regulatory and security compliance, and shape target-state architectures and standards across the data platform.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Platform Architect or similar role.
• Ability to operate at system and platform architecture level, not just implementation.
• Experience defining and enforcing architectural standards and best practices.
• Strong communication skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in regulated environments (aviation, finance, healthcare, or similar).
• Familiarity with data governance, lineage, metadata management, and audit requirements.
• Experience overseeing third-party vendors or delivery partners.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud-native data platform architectures on AWS, including ingestion, streaming, storage, processing, and analytics.
• Architect event-driven data solutions using Kafka (Confluent Platform / Confluent Cloud).
• Define infrastructure-as-code using Terraform for cloud resources and networking.
• Contribute to platform components and data pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Establish patterns for scalability, resilience, observability, security, and cost optimization.
• Provide architectural governance for external vendors and system integrators.
