Job summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Kafka Platform Engineer with 10+ years in distributed systems, event streaming, and platform engineering. You will architect, deploy, and manage enterprise-scale streaming platforms powering real-time data processing across the organization.

Deep Kafka internals, automation, security, observability, and cloud-native infra are essential; mentoring and governance are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in distributed systems or platform engineering, with 5+ years in Apache Kafka/Confluent Platform.
• Deep knowledge of Kafka internals, partitions, replication, brokers, ISR, consumer groups, offsets, tuning.
• Experience implementing Kafka security (SASL, SSL/mTLS, ACLs, RBAC) and enterprise authentication.
• Hands-on with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, Kafka Streams, ksqlDB, and real-time streaming architectures.
• Experience with HA/DR, multi-cluster replication, cross-region failover.
• Scripting in Python/Bash/Go and IaC with Terraform/Ansible.
• Observability with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK; distributed tracing.
• Strong communication, documentation, leadership and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and manage Apache Kafka and Confluent Platform environments for enterprise-scale streaming.
• Design topology, partitioning, replication, capacity planning, and tuning for high throughput.
• Implement enterprise security and authentication mechanisms (SASL, SSL/mTLS, RBAC).
• Design and manage Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, Kafka Streams, and ksqlDB pipelines.
• Provide IaC with Terraform/Ansible to provision Kafka infrastructure.
• Establish HA/DR, backup, failover, and cross-region replication strategies.
• Develop monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK, and Confluent tools.
• Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and architects to standardize event-driven architecture.
