Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a data engineer to design and maintain cloud-based data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Functions, and Databricks, with emphasis on Snowflake integration.

The role requires strong SQL, big data tooling, and experience in building scalable, automated data products. Collaborates with BI, analytics, and product teams to enable secure data flow and AI-driven insights.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with Java and/or Python.
• 10+ years of professional experience with software design and architecture using database, big data and cloud platforms.
• 3+ years with Azure and Snowflake.
• 3+ years with big data, Hadoop or distributed systems, Azure/AWS, Snowflake.
• Proficient in SQL and data warehousing.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub.
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, tests, deploys, and supports data pipelines using Cloud infrastructure and Azure services.
• Develops scalable, repeatable serverless solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, and Databricks.
• Establishes governance patterns to ensure AI is used securely and cost-effectively.
• Leads evaluation and adoption of AI capabilities within the Cloud Data Platform, focusing on Snowflake and Azure AI features.
• Researches and enables Snowflake Cortex, Cortex AI features, and Azure AI services from Snowflake/Azure.
• Partners with management to develop strategic plans for a modern data platform.
• Presents to technical staff and leadership across the organization.
